Heroin Injection

Preparation of the heroin injection

Step 1

1. Start by ensuring proper hygiene. Wash your hands thoroughly and clean the injection site with an alcohol swab.

Step 2

2. Draw up the desired amount of sterile water into the syringe.

Step 3

3. Transfer the heroin powder into the syringe using a clean surface and the needle.

Step 4

4. Mix the heroin powder with the sterile water in the syringe by gently swirling or shaking it.

Step 5

5. Attach a new sterile needle to the syringe.

Injection process

Step 1

1. Locate a suitable vein for injection, typically on the arm or hand.

Step 2

2. Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab.

Step 3

3. With one hand, stretch the skin around the injection site so that the vein becomes more prominent.

Step 4

4. With your other hand, hold the syringe like a pencil or dart and insert the needle into the vein at a 45-degree angle.

Step 5

5. Once the needle is inserted, pull back slightly on the plunger. If blood enters the syringe, it indicates that the needle is in a vein.

Step 6

6. Slowly and steadily push the plunger down to inject the heroin into the vein.

Step 7

7. After injecting the full contents of the syringe, remove the needle and apply pressure to the injection site with a sterile cotton swab or bandage.

Step 8

8. Dispose of all used needles and syringes safely in a sharps container or puncture-proof container.
